Probate & Matrimonial Valuations
Probate Valuations
The purpose of a Probate Valuation is to ascertain the total value of the assets held in the estate of the deceased.
A Probate Valuation will show whether or not inheritance tax (IHT) will be payable on the estate and if so, how much will be charged. This can be
hugely important as it may have a significant impact on the eventual sums passed to beneficiaries.
Probate Valuations are usually instructed by a solicitor, however they can also be commissioned privately.
Matrimonial Valuations
With high divorce and separation rates, it is usually necessary for matrimonial houses or shared property to be valued to decide upon how the
assets will be shared. Ian Tonge Property Services can act for both parties in the divorce by providing an independent valuation report for, and to,
the Court. A valuation can also be carried out for the benefit of single parties for negotiation purposes.
Typical costs for this service is around £150 plus VAT per property subject to the size of the dwelling. If you wish to arrange a valuation please contact -
